Are you happy?

I am of course very happy.

Yesterday, Jerry was offered a new job. He has always maintained that he loves what he does, but the environment was no longer working for him. Add to that an impending crappy schedule change and it was officially time to seek out new adventures.

Starting on Monday, Jerry's schedule was slated to change to second shift - roughly 1 pm - 9 pm Monday through Thursday, and the usual 12 pm - 6 pm on Sunday. While, unlike some people, I am not going to complain about the hours, I will acknowledge that the reason for the change was ridiculous. Let's just say that Jerry would become little more than a babysitter. But again, I will not say anything bad. He would be getting home not long after 9 pm and we would have a few precious moments together before I pass out around 10. We would be limited to Friday nights, Saturdays, and a few hours on Sunday to spend quality time together. And knowing us, we would pack that time full of activities with friends.

However, in thinking about all that time that I would not get to spend with my husband of just over 4 months, something occurred to me... I could probably get some decent rest!

Our weeks as of late have looked like this:
Monday - Jerry's Softball
Tuesday - Wing Night with Mindy and/or my parents
Wednesday - Craft Beer night (with the Fessels)
Thursday - trivia at the Great American Sports Cafe (we haven't lost yet!)
Friday - Never the same, but ALWAYS something happening
Saturday - See Friday - includes weddings, bridal showers, bachelorette parties, surprise grad parties
Sunday - Me: breakfast with family, running errands, taking Jerry lunch, working from home. Jerry: Work

We are actually giving up (Johnny Gomes) Garden Gnome giveaway this Saturday in an effort to spend time together - just the 2 of us (that's after we pick up a fridge from my great Aunt's house).

So, I guess what I'm saying is that while I am incredibly happy for my husband... I kinda wish the hiatus from life would last a bit longer. Or maybe not....I'd probably just end up working from home while he's anyway.
